Language — the difference that matters most
If your recordings are in Polish, that settles it before you look at any price. Otter's pricing page describes AI transcription for six languages, and Polish is not one of them. A tool that does not claim to support your language is not a cheaper alternative — it is the wrong tool.
For English recordings language stops being a criterion and the rest of the differences decide — above all whether you work with a file or with a live meeting.
A bot in the meeting versus a file afterwards
Otter is built around meetings: it joins the call, transcribes live and pulls out action items. If that is what you need, skryba.ai is not a substitute — we have no bot that joins calls and are not planning one.

Honestly about cost: at volume, in a language Otter supports, Otter Pro is cheaper per hour than our plans — 1,200 minutes for $16.99 is about $0.85 an hour against our $3.00. If the hourly rate is the only criterion and you record in English, that is an argument for Otter.
The difference shows when you do not record every month. With Otter, subscription minutes expire with the billing period. With us, unused subscription hours stay on the account for 12 months, and a single recording can be paid for without a subscription, so recording once a quarter does not cost twelve subscriptions a year.
